welcome to hodgepodge. by creating an account or using our app or website, you agree to these terms of service. please read them carefully.

about hodgepodge

hodgepodge is a trust-based social dining app that connects people through a friends-of-friends social graph. hosts organize intimate tables (dinners, drinks, brunch, and experiences) and invite guests from their network. guests may only join tables through verified connections.

eligibility

you must be at least 18 years old to use hodgepodge. by creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.

your account

you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. your account is personal and non-transferable. you agree to:

• provide accurate information when creating your profile
• keep your contact information up to date
• not share your account with anyone else
• notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

acceptable use

you agree to use hodgepodge only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. you agree not to:

• impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• harass, abuse, or harm other members
• use the platform to solicit, advertise, or promote commercial services
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access
• upload or share content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others
• interfere with the operation of the platform

hosting responsibilities

as a host, you are responsible for the tables you create and the guests you invite. you agree to:

• only invite guests you genuinely know or who are connected through your network
• ensure the information about your table (venue, time, guest count) is accurate
• treat all guests with respect
• not use the host role to collect personal data about guests for purposes outside hodgepodge

SMS communications

by providing your phone number, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from hodgepodge. these include verification codes, table invitations, reminders, and connection notifications. message and data rates may apply. you may opt out at any time by replying STOP.

content

you retain ownership of content you submit to hodgepodge, including profile information, messages, and photos. by submitting content, you grant hodgepodge a limited license to display and transmit that content within the platform for the purpose of operating the service. we do not use your content for advertising or sell it to third parties.

privacy

your use of hodgepodge is also governed by our privacy policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

termination

we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in harmful behavior toward other members, or if we determine your use poses a risk to the community. you may delete your account at any time from within the app settings.

disclaimers

hodgepodge is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. we do not guarantee that the platform will be error-free or uninterrupted. we are not responsible for the conduct of members at tables or outside the platform.

limitation of liability

to the fullest extent permitted by law, hodgepodge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during the beta period, is zero).

changes to these terms

we may update these terms from time to time. we will notify you of material changes via the app or SMS. continued use of hodgepodge after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

governing law

these terms are governed by the laws of the state of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
